Bodywork is often confused with spa style massage and/or chiropractic. Bodywork is different than both modalities in several different ways:
Massage is great for relaxing the body and mind and letting go of the stresses of daily life. With massage you give your body over to the care of the massage therapist to do what they feel is best for you.
Chiropractic treatments address specific areas or parts of the body that are causing you pain. Usually the treatment is reduced to the problem area of the body with little to no attention to other aspects.
Bodywork, on the other hand, takes a holistic approach engaging you as the client to participate in the session. Rather than lying down passively you will be staying with your body giving me feedback and occasionally doing movements when called for.
Instead of reducing your issue down to a specific part or system we will take a holistic view of your overall structure and address your situation globally. Since every part effects the whole we won’t want to leave out key areas that might be overlooked by a reductionist approach. Thereby we will increase the probability of a totally and lasting results.

There are multiple types of fascia, including superficial fascia, deep fascia, and fascia surrounding muscles and organs. The fascia serves as a sort of "body suit" that wraps around and supports various structures in the body, providing a framework for movement and helping to distribute force and stress throughout the body.

With proper communication we can arrive at the “hedonic threshold”. That place between pleasure and pain where we can do effective work that is also tolerable.
